At first I was going to say that black is appropriate for anything until I read that you were the mother of the groom. It's your son's wedding day. Even if you don't like the girl he's marrying I don't think black is proper. Wear blue, or wear a color similiar but not the same to the wedding party. I don't really even like white accessories and a black dress. Go find a reasonable priced dress, you'll be able to use it again and you will look great.

Definitely Not. You never were a black dress at a wedding. No matter if it is at night. A wedding is cheerful and you should try waring something cheerful. It dose not have to be white or pink but definitely not black.

I wouldn't think so. Shouldn't you wear some bright cheerful color? I don't know a lot about fashion, but I know I've heard comments from other people at weddings about people wearing black dresses.

to a very formal wedding, yes you can. However, being the mother of the groom I'd ask your future daughter-in-law what color she'd like you to wear! (my sis-in-law told my mom the color to wear)

that is an insult to the bride and her family. It's like you're going to a ceremony that represents the death of your relationship with your son. that is wrong. wear the wedding colors!!!!
