Hello Im planning on joining the army in 2 months and right now I just had surgery so Im really bored, I thought I could rent a couple movies about the army to get me really pumped up / informed.

Im actually looking for something more along the lines of recent and more realistic movies - Stay away from Fiction as much as possible.

I've already watched "The War Tapes" and I really enjoyed it, although it's a documentary on the american troops in Iraq.

Anything simular to this regarding the Canadian troops, Basic Training, troops in Afganastan, etc...?

Get a hold of documentaries about current events. If you are going to fight a war, it is better to know what is going on. Study up on religions, especially Islam. Research ethnic wars-genocide did not end with Hitler.

Also check the public library for documentaries on famous generals of the past century or so.

Good luck on your tour of duty. Stay sharp, focused and ready.
