Why not call it Palestine

Geographically, yes. Culturally, no. Israel was dispersed in about 70 c.e. by the Romans. They spread all over Europe. They were never liked very much because they seemed to have an innate ability to always control money. Most people do not like their lenders. King Edward I threw them out of England in 1290 for that reason.
In 1918, at the end of WWI, Baron Rothschild, a British, Jewish banker in London, paid for many of them to be sent to Palestine. Rothschild was a Zionist (one who believes that Jews are God's chosen people, and will one day control the World). Great Britain and the US co-operated with him.

After Hitler's slaughter of them during WWII, the Allies did not know what to do with them. No European countries wanted them. Neither did the US. The US took only the elite, Einstein, Oppenheimer, etc. The Exodus was put together by the Allies to give them somewhere to go and Palestine was chosen because the French controlled it, and the Palestinians had no say in the matter.

Since they have been there, they have created the same contempt from their neighbors, as they have always done in the past.

They would never accept the name "Palesreal." Their egos are way too big. THEY ARE GOD'S CHOSEN PEOPLE.

Get it?

One of my freinds, very cleverly, once said to me, "Chosen for what?"

Palestine was a sovereign state until 1947 when the British (who were in control of the middle east after WW2) decided, (under pressure from the USA) to create a homeland for the Jews of Europe who had survived the Nazis.
After a lot of terrorist activity by the Jews, (culminating in the bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusulem which killed about 120 British soldiers and civilians), the British Government of the day decided to just 'give' the country of Palestine to the Jews to gain peace and quiet. They armed the Jews and sent them into Palestine where they just took over and threw the Palestinians out of their homes and land and created Israel. The Palestinians have been fighting to regain their country ever since.
I may sound anti Jew and I may sound like an Arab....but I'm not. I just read history..... and don't ignore the bad bits.

No. They both claim some of the same territory, but they each consider themselves to be independent states. Israel has only existed as an independent modern state since 1949 when it was created by the United Nations. At that time, the territory of Palestine was eliminated as a separate entity. "Palestine" is a term used from time to time through history for the land between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. (that same geographical area has also been called "Judea", "the Land of Israel", and "Canaan" at various times) It is not a recognized country now, although its leadership has declared it into existence periodically.

Yes. They are in the area known as both Judea and Canaan.

John H has it wrong. The British Empire decided, along with France, under the auspices of the Balfour Treaty to partition the Turkish Empire into smaller states, after the first World War. At that time, the US was hardly the world power that the world spanning British Empire was. John, sorry... Go back to the bookcases. The US didn't become the global power they currently are until during and after WWII.

I reckon Palestine was there before 1948, was it? I think some Jewish lad set up Israel. Ben Gurion? All that area is full of Muslims. It's a little strange that there's only a small piece of land which have Jews in it. Who does the land belong to? Whoever was there first. Probably belongs to the Palestines. Same way as Northern Ireland belongs to the Irish.

If you look on an old history map, you will find the land was called Palestine. After world war 2, and the whole Jewish Holocaust issue, they Jews had no homeland. There was 2 possibilities, Tanzania, or Palestine. Guess which one they picked. Jewish people believe that God gave them Israel

I think they should turn into one country. Drop the name Palestine and the name Israel.

Rename the whole nation as Jerusalem (since it is the holiest city for all 3 major religions). And, make it into a secular state.

I think this is a great suggestion. One country with equal rights for everyone.

Right now Zionists are trying to grab as much land with as few ethnic Palestinians on it, to settle Jews on it. Palestinians have no rights to the land they own under Israeli rules - Israelis can come along and take it. They can do this because they have a powerful army. The Zionists aren't committing a lot of major massacres like they did in 1948 to get rid of the Palestinians. Mostly they are just doing everything they can to make it hard for Palestinians to live there - making them apply for permits just to live there, preventing them from getting to work and schools and markets and hospitals if they're sick, allowing settlers to vandalize their orchards and property.

If it was one country with equal rights for everyone, a lot of this wouldn't happen, and there would be no need for vengeance for losing land or loved ones to Israeli bullets.

This issue isn't new in the last few years, it goes back past when Samson destroyed the Temple. Israel was given to the Jews by God thru Moses and His Brother. And the new temple is where Jesus will rule for a 1000 years before Judgment ! It all started in Israel, and it will end in Israel !! Praise God !!
