Any answer to this question is just a theory. There is no record of how the universe was created. The Big Bang and the biblical account are just theories.

There is the story of creation and the scientific theory of the big bang. At least these are the only two answers I know about. Personally I believe a little of both but not all of either.

First, creation. The bible states that the universe was created in 6 days by God. In the first verse of the first book of the bible it says, ''In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.'' Scientist agree that there are five elements which must be present for the universe to exist, TIME - FORCE - ENERGY - SPACE - MATTER. So ... In the beginning = time, God = force, created = energy, the heavens = space, and the earth = matter. The first book of the bible agrees with scientific theory to a point.

Second, the scientific theory. Scientist state that the universe and all that is in it is billions of years old. There is no way it could have been created in just 6 days. It is also stated that man evolved from a primal being to present day man. But, since the bible also states that ''To God a thousand years is like unto a day and a day is like unto a thousand years'' there is a possibility that each day mentioned in the bible during creation could have been millions or billions of years. Since it is believed that God created man, scientifically speaking his creation of man could have been the evolution of man over many thousands or millions of years.

There is one fact which both the scientist and religious beliefs agree on, something can not come from nothing. Perhaps there is a supreme being of some sort which did in fact create the 5 elements needed for the universe to exist. After his creation of these 5 elements the evolution of all things could have begun from that point.

I personally believe that there is a supreme being and we are his creation and therefore his children. I very much doubt a god of any sort would send his children to hell forever. Even a murderer gets out of jail, sometimes, after only 20 years. Hell forever not only sounds excessive but quite ludicrous.

The creation of the universe is not known to any man but there are many theories to how the universe was created. My theory sounds just as credible as any. If you disaree or have any comments about this post then feel free to send me an email.

The short history of the universe: Some 13.6 billion years ago, the universe began, starting from a singularity in an unimaginably huge explosion. At first, there was just radiation; then quarks formed, and nucleons. As the initial plasma expanded and cooled, the nucleons created hydrogen, helium, and a bit of lithium. The expansion continued, space became transparent, and stars formed.

Fast forward nine billion years. A supernova explodes, throwing newly created heavy elements into space. The shock wave causes disruptions in nearby clouds of dust and gas, starting a gravitational collapse that resulted in the creation of the sun and planets.

Scientists have spotted that all the planets, stars and galaxies are moving away from each other which brings us to a conclusion that they were once very close to each other, thus the theory of the big bang is created. Through history man used already known laws of physic to create models of universe that will match the observations and the big bang theory is the only one so far that explains the creation of the universe.

Oh dear, you're going to start a war here, you know that? Figuratively anyway, because there are basically two types of people here: the ATHIESTS, and the CREATIONISTS.

I myself am a creationist, and believe that God created the universe in six days. Yes, I know that sounds preposterous. I've questioned it thoroughly and found it to be true. One of the ways you can check for yourself is by looking at how old most of the Old Testament is. Then look at the dates of when the New Testament was written. Then look at the prophecies (hundreds of 'em, you can search online easy) made in the OT thousands of years ago, and then do another search to see how many Jesus fulfilled.

Every last one. There are some still unfulfilled that pertain to the Second Coming, but Jesus fulfilled every prophecy made thousands of years ago pertaining to his First Coming. Then, as soon as you accept that Jesus was truthful in all He said, including His claims of being God, then the whole OT is immediately rendered truthful.

Which spares you the pain of hair-splitting about Genesis vs. the Big Bang with hundreds of other people.

There are many theories on the creation of the universe. There is of course creationism of the universe by God. But, from a scientific aspect, the universe was created by the big bang. The Big Bang theory is where there was an infinite small atom, that exploded and evolutionized in what we live in now.

Hello Jaime:

First, let me suggest to you that the terms "KNOW" and "HAS A GOOD THEORY" are not interchangeable.

About the best theory I have seen presented was written by Ian Ridpath in his book, ASTRONOMY, DK Publishing, NY, NY. I suggest that you purchase a copy of that book, or try to borrow one from a nearby library. He has provided detailed drawings of the probable event with very detailed explanations of the event over time. I have not seen a better presentation anywhere. I feel certain that if you check it out you will be amazed. I have several of his books and he is quite knowledgeable on the subject. Most important for us, however, is the simple and straight forward language he uses to make his theories understood.

Their are two theories. One is the that God created the universe (which he did). And two is the big bang theory. The big band theory is a theory that says that the world was created 10 to 20 billion years ago from a cosmic explosion that hurled matter in all directions.

The big bang. The Ocilliating Universe Theory.

Or if you like...(the science AND religion answer) God created the big bang. Since there has been no adequate explanation for what has, this is still plausible.

Or the Sphagetti Monster Theory.

Go post mod. I am. A giant pink elephant could have created the earth for all i care.

The best answer that we have at this time is "Big Bang." However, since noone knows how or why the Big Bang itself came about, it's perfectly acceptable to say that God created the Big Bang, which then created the universe. Noone can disprove this statement.
