I am guessing that you only have 1 switch that controls the fan and light. Adding a new switch in the wall to control the fan only could be difficult.

Wire the fan light to the dimmer switch. Wire the fan directly to the 110V supply wires. You should have a switch on the fan to control the speed, on/off.

yes. That's what I did. I ran a feed from the dimmer to the light and a seperate feed for the fan.

yes put lite on dimmer and fan on regular switch
