Stayed next door in the Brisa Sol, there is a kfc and mcdonalds and resteraunt accross the road, and to the left on the same side there is a few cafes and couple of chinese resteraunts too, to the rights again couple more. Outside ur hotel a little train stops, which takes you to the albuferia strip, quite alot pubs, shops and eating places there, and a beach at end of the strip, the train goes on a one way sytem and carries on to the old town square, there is quite a lot there too, also another beach, the train will then take u back up to the villa gale. If u come out of your hotel, turn left its easy walk down hill to the old town. The train is 3euro each day, get on and off as many times as you like.

I live in Albufeira 15 minutes away , Leigha was thinking of the Cerro Alagoa Hotel in Vila Gale group but it is not the one you are going to. Vilamoura is very clean and lots of golf, 40per cent more expensive than Albufeira ( strip side) a taxi to Alb is about 16 euros and a breakfast at Albufeira start from 1.50 euro and a large beer for a euro if you look around. Lots of Timeshare to avoid with scratch cards but the Hilton are building a fantastic hotel there and if you look around you will get a lunch and 50 euros, not bad eh, my mate carlos or andy will probably catch you, Quarteira market every Wednesday is walking distance and a must, don't book any trips from your rep as they are half the price in a trip shop, when you have a meal out watch out for all the extras they put in front of you , eg bread olives, quails eggs ,goats cheese, etc etc they can double the price of you meal if you don't want them tell them to remove them from the table or you will be charged. only buy cigs from a shop as their are Gypsy's selling fakes .

the vila gale is a large clean hotel with an open atmosphere(it lets in plenty of light) there are numerous places to eat out all with easy walking distance and quite reasonably priced. There is a good restaurant in the complex and the bar ,I forget its name, it is quite popular. You cannot go wrong here in this part of Portugal.. enjoy it. I did two years ago
