Barry Sanders was the best.
Archie Griffin shouldn't have won two. There was a back named Ricky something at USC that was more deserving than he did.
Reggie Bush deserved it because he was the most oustanding during the regular season. If only the Heisman was given after post-season.

I am not saying he was the best player to win, but the most memorable Heisman Trophy season I remember was Doug Flutie's. That was a special season for college football fans.

I would have to say without reading the answer the name that jumps to my mind is Herschel Walker. He is arguable the best college running back ever. So, I would have to say him. I think people who were alive to witness him forget him and those too young to witness just don't know how good he was.

I like your list, but I'm replacing Reggie Bush with Tony Dorsett. Defenses knew he was comming, and where he was going, but couldn't stop him. For Terry, this question is about football, not what a person did after they retired.

Billy Sims should replace someone on that list. And BTW, a murder committed twenty five or so years later does not bear at all on what the man did in college, so judge O.J. on his four years, not on his crime.

i thought the heisman was given to the best college football player during the year. an alleged murder that was going to happen in the future shouldn't influence that.
keep OJ in there. he was the man back then...

Barry Sanders! Over 2600 yards rushing and 37 TD's! That's the type of numbers that high school guys have, not college guys!
