Stand up & announce very loudly "Would the person using the cell phone kindly turn it off." I guarantee you'll get a round of applause...I know cuz I did!

1) first look over at them as if annoyed.

2) if that doesn't work then look one more time.

3) consider moving to a different seat if there is one available.

3) if that fails, i suggest using your judgment on whether or not to confront them. its not always a good idea. instead let the ushers do their job and go get one. you can be discrete about it. pretend to buy some candy or something.

accidently spill your drink on him and his precious phone..... then politely state that you were so ingrossed with his conversation that you had to get closer so you would not miss any details.... of course you could do the nice thing and just report him to the theatre management......and let them deal with the obnoxious person.....

The best approach is to say nothing to the fellow, but go directly to theater management and present your complaint.
