Obviously you can not base your answer on yesterdays VERY embarrasing lose to the Royals on Curt, but do you honestly think that, that game was the last bad game for him this year, or will it be a bad year for the veteran?

I wouldn't say he's done. Schilling should still be OK, but nowhere near as dominant as he once was.

More hits against than innings in 2006. Gave up only 28 home in runs in 31 game starts 2006. ONLY 28 WALKS in 204 innings in 2006. E.R.A. under 4.00 in 2006. You know what... One game does not a season make. That's why they play 162. Stats don't mean squat this early in the season. Washed up? Nah... I'd rather have a 40 year old Curt Schilling hurling for me than... let's say... Oh I don't know... A 29 year old Kerry Wood. What a waste of time and money.... Poor Cubbies!!! I give Lou Piniella 1 month (maybe less, if and when he comes off the disabled list) and Kerry's either in the bullpen or in the minors. If you're a Red Sox Fan... I'd bet the ranch that Schilling gives me 15 wins or better. See ya in September...

I was hopeful...They obviously still consider him their ace, since he started opening day...but after the thumping the Red Sox took with Schilling, now more than ever, I hope Josh Beckett can carry the load and that Dice K is the real deal, because they'll probably be 1 and 2 if Schilling slumps this year...

He's not done, but he's not the pitcher he once was. Fact is the Royals own Schilling (that sounds funny to say but its true). He couldn't get a curveball over the plate for his life and most of the Royals weren't chasing the splitter. If he can't throw his junk for strikes he will be in trouble, but I think he just couldn't find his groove yesterday.

GO ROYALS!!!!!!

He's not completely done, but he's not on top either. He is the third best SP on the Red Sox behind Dice-K and Beckett. He is out of shape and that doesn't work when your 40. There is a reason they didn't give him the contract extension he wanted.

Professionally, he hasn't be "on top" for some time. But last season, the longer the season went on, the more embarrassing were his pitching performances.

As they say, it's time to "stick a fork in him", proverbially, of course.
