Tidal waves hit the east coast every day. It's called high tides.
I think you're more worried about Tsunamis. While it is possible, it's very unlikely. Instead of there being a large quantity of faults in the ocean (like around Indonesia) it's the Mid-Atlantic drift, which basically means there is a big tear in the middle of the ocean. If one does hit any time soon, it'll be very small, and just be mistaken for yet another wave.

Yes. It is not a matter of if but when. A tsunami will hit the US east coast. There are volcanoes off Africa that periodically have landslides that might cause catastrophic tidal waves but it probably won't happen this century.

Tidal waves happen everyday.Tsunami waves a much rarer. To say that a tsunami wave will hit the US in the future is like saying one day it will be Monday. Obviously one day in the future a tsunami wave will reach the shore of the US continent. But when and the magnitude is what will matter.
