I was thinking of buying WoW but I dont know If my internet meets the basic requirements. I use Verizons DSL service that uses the phone line. Is that good enough? When I use Game Tap it downloads games at 22kbs.

As long as it's not dial-up, then it should be great. A lot of lag is caused by your PC, not by the connection, contrary to popular belief.

You also need a good graphics card or you will get tons of lag and anyone you try to kill will own you over and over again because of the lag. I played WoW for a year...the first 30 or 40 levels i could not kill anyone and i had a Gforce 5200. I went out and spent 300 bucks to get a good graphics card that made it run smoothly and then had to buy a 500 watt power supply for the new graphics card because most computers come with only a 350 watt power supply. I think that cost me 50 or 75 dollars more. You need about 1 gig of ram too and if you are only running 256 or 512, thats another 100 bucks you need to spend so WoW will cost you about 500 dollars to play + subscription fee of 15 per month.

I suggest staying away from WoW as it destorys lives. I dont play anymore, only because I got banned for selling gold. Best thing that ever happened to me. If i didnt get banned i would still be playing it right now, but no way do i want to put another 1200 hours into a character so thats why I am staying away from it.

I would also recommend having at least 1 GB of RAM to avoid performance issues with the game - your DSL should be fine.

You're connection is pleanty fast for WoW; as long as you aren't doing anything else. If you try to dowload a large file or run torrents while playing WoW it might just crash you out.
