they don't want the other animals messing around with it. If a bunch of raccoons were to start checking it out closely they might figure out how it works. The next thing you know, they're making their own washing machines,( and tapping into the power lines to run them ). You can see that it wouldn't be very long at all until they were producing better machines than we have. Then it's like Planet of the Apes all over again ! Only this, with raccoons. That's just not a chance that we afford to take.
