On Mar. 14, I was supposed to get my period, but I purposely skipped it because I didn't want it over Spring Break. On Mar. 22, my husband and I had sex and 8 days later, I began having pregnancy symptoms, like nausea, headaches, backaches, and sore breasts. These symptoms have continued everyday so far, but I have to wait a week until I can take a pregnancy test. Has anyone gotten pregnant from skipping their period while on the pill?

I never got pregnant while taking the pill but since you skipped your period, maybe this is just your bodies way of coping. Call you doctor to be sure.

As long as you started a new pack & took your pills correctly, you have no greater chance of being pregnant that normally on the pill. Taking you pill daily around the same time gives you 99.7% protection.

The magic numbers are 21 & 7. At least 21 days of active pills & no more than 7 days without an active pill. So even if you missed a couple pills during your new pack, since you skipped your period, you'd still be protected since you've already taken at least 21 active pills.

Well I got pregnant TWICE while on the pill. But I didn't purposely throw off my hormones just so I wouldn't have a period over spring break. There really isn't anything you can't do during your period that you can't do when not on your period..that is unless you are a lazy slob.

No type of birth control is 100% effective and yes....it's possible to be on the pill and get pregnant.

If by "skipped it" you mean you kept taking the pill, then no, you shouldn't be pregnant. You didn't give your body a chance to ovulate.

I'm no expert, but you can learn to avoid having sex during your fertile phase. After that's passed well, you can put all of us casual lovers to shame! Good Luck
