No team in the Pacific Division gets respect... its just the way it is. You have a great team, just know it and don't worry about the rest of the league's fans. It will always be this way for a long time.
Look at how many people disregard Anaheim... or the "no goal" talk about Dallas (and that was 10 years ago and people forgot that Buffalo was losing the series!!!).... your entire division doesn't get respect... and it'll be okay, really.

I agree with you and say the are way underated but, have to disagree with you about #1 powerplay. Montreal has that title. But San Jose does have a killer team. I think that it is because there are so many good teams in the NHL this year. I cant remember a year were there were so many good teams.
Here is my top 8
1. Buffalo
2. Detroit
3. Nashville
4. Pittsburgh
5. New Jersey
6. Anaheim
7. Ottawa
8. San Jose

I don't know what a lot of people are thinking but I WILL try to give you a LITTLE BIT of a deeper answer than "they suck", or "their uniforms suck".
I have to agree with you if only because someone upstairs didn't even know they aren't in SOUTHERN California.
The problem is that there are 8 teams in the West going to the playoffs. Look at the statistics, they are almost identical in points, Goals against, and Goal differential. There is very little difference between Detroit and Calgary IF AT ALL.
I think one problem you might have is that your Goalie rotation worked great in the regular season but you won't be able to play Toskala and Nabokov AT ONCE. You'd be better off having one GREAT Goalie than 2 GOOD Goalies.
But point taken, if your team is in the Stanley Cup finals it won't really be all that surprising.

It's all about Playoff success. They got noticed in '94 and '95 when they pulled off Playoff upsets. Since then, they haven't done much in the postseason, despite a couple of regular-season Division Titles. Until they make a serious Stanley Cup run, they're just another team. Which is better than being a bad team. Right, Flyer fans?
True!!! I totally agree! Besides the fact that the Ducks are ahead of them for 1st in their divison.

They dont any respect because they are a hockey team in southern California. Not enogh people care about hockey there for people to talk about the Sharks. I am an avid hockey fan and yes I will tell you that they are a top team. Top 5....I dont know but top 10 for sure.

As a Wings fan, I'm begging that we don't face the Sharks or Calgary.

jeff s hit the nail on the head... the pacific coast teams don't get the respect they deserve because they play most of their games when most hockey fans are in bed.
