Back when I used to actually do those things (read: as a teenager), I think my best (and favorite) one was to say in my burliest voice:

"Hey, this is Jeff... when you gon' come an' fix mah sink?! I gots water up to my ankles, you said you's was gon' be down here in an hour."

The trick is to keep it going as long as possible.

Oh wow! It was a few weeks ago. I'd say a month ago or so. My sister and I were feeling silly that night. My mom was still at work and we were bored. We decided to take turns prank calling random people in the phone book. We said it would be better if we knew the names of the people we were calling. And of course we blocked our number each time. So, we'd call up some random person. Like a Joey Smith or a Steven Patterson. The person would answer, we'd ask for that person. Most times it was a woman that would pick up and we'd lie saying the guy was our boyfriend. Oh wow, did they get pissed! It was so funny too because we knew their names. And we supposed that these women were their wives or something. Well, then came my turn again after the fifth person. I was feeling [pretty good from the previous calls we made. So, this woman answered. I asked to speak with the person I had looked up. She hesitated in answering me when I asked her if I could speak with that person. She asked," Who is this?" I told her I was his "girlfriend". She hesitated again, and then said, "Blank has passed away years ago.."
At that point I froze! I couldn't believe it and I didn't feel so good afterwards. I made up some quick lie saying I had the wrong number and that I actually was looking for this person in the Directory. She said it was fine. She was really nice about it though. I hung up and told my sister and we didn't prank call again. Good lesson.

When I was in college (I went to a Christian college) my room mate told me about this guy who sold drugs out of his dorm room (at the same college). . . .I called him and told him I was the dean's wife and would really like to meet him because I heard he had the "right stuff" for a good time. I actually had him going for a while too. Then one time we had gotten a very minimal amount of snow and I called the dean at home and asked him if he really expected us to go to school the next day in this weather. Oh the days before caller ID were soooooo much fun. You want to know what happend to the dean and his wife? He came out of the closet and she divorced him (that bit of information was just a bonus)

Well not funny but it kids is. When we were kids we used to call the question/comment number on the back of all my parents products. Tell um how much we liked the product because it helped w/chores or whatever. It was great fun, and my parents go great coupons LOL! Kids!

Back in the day, when 4-1-1 calls were still free, we used to call them up and ask for listing of the bizarrest types... like "Is my Mommy there?" Stupid stuff like that...

One time I called this random number and this lady answered and I started moaning and breathing pornographically.. it was kinda funny.

Another time, I called this house in my neighborhood (*67-d first of course) and the wife answered and I asked for her husband Wade. When she said he wasn't home, I started pouting and saying how he promised he'd call me and that I was upset that he didn't show up for our "rendevouz" last night... it was pretty funny.

me and some buddies pranked a town that was right outside of the town that we lived in ....we was on the football bus and we just picked a random number and when that old lady picked up the phone we all said at once...BUFFALO SUCKS NUTS! ha ha ha!!
