BAY is an area of water bordered by land on three sides. Its a reverse of a HEADLAND which is an area of land adjacent to water on three sides.
An OCEAN is the major body of saline water that covers the 71% of the Earth's surface . Though somewhat arbitrarily divided into several 'separate' oceans, these waters comprise one global, interconnected body of salt water often referred to as the World Ocean or global ocean. The major oceanic divisions are (in descending order of size) the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Southern Ocean ( Atlantic, and Indian Oceans), and the Arctic Ocean (which is sometimes considered a sea of the Atlantic).

A bay is rivers flowing into a brackish body of water, that then flows out to a sea or ocean. Bays are subject to tides, but water flows (eventually) out. Bay water is called "brackish" because it is made of fresh and salt water, but is less salty than the sea, gulf, or ocean it is flowing out to. Two examples are the San Fransisco Bay, and the Chesapeake Bay.
