Most people answer: "We will lose if dems pull us out".
I respond to them this: How do you define "winning" ?
1. Completing the construction and securing the oil pipe through Afganistan to the persian sea, as well as securing the oil extraction plants ?
Then no, we will lose, since it's not finished yet. (Bet you never seen this on TV, guess why)
2. Saving american lives and our money by getting our friends home and not letting them die there, in the middle of the iraqi civil war. I don't
Than it would be a victory to leave now.
But since Bush is a corporate guy, (a business man), he cares about money.
By the way, if you didn't know, in his first week of office, he removed all emission and pollution reduction barriers for corporations. Look it up. It's a public fact.

You'd have to define what a victory is.
In my opinion we haven't won. I wouldn't say we've lost but I would say we're on the path to loosing.
I'm unsure of the Iraq War. As for the war on terror, we can never win that. There will always be someone somewhere who wants to attack America. We just need to find out how to best protect ourselves.
This is a sensitive subject, though.

Surrender now, tail between our legs, yep, needs to happen. Some guys with rocks, and 30 yr old machine guns kicked our asses.
How? Cause they were willing to blow up car bombs in markets full of their own people to maybe injure a US soldier, and we weren't willing to even fire a near a single person that was unarmed.
I think its an insult to those that have died to pull out now, and an insult to those that will die if we stay.
To try to touch on something I think needs to be addressed- We are not aware of why we are truely in Iraq, there is something that They know and are not telling us, something not about oil, or diplomacy, or democratic government, or what have you- no, there is something else that we are missing.

maybe i've missed the news....have we been attacked on American soil again??!!?
NO>>> we haven't because our leader, President Bush has lead our country through some of the worst times, gone to war to protect our freedom and done so with great strength and determination!
Lives have been lost, yes, so that you and I could retain our freedom and not be worried about car bombers on our soil.
Why don't you try being grateful and thankful instead of being part of the problem in this country.
If you have better ideas of how to run this country how about you run for office and get the job done.

No. Won the war, but probably have lost the peace. Possibly even threw it away.
"Preparation and Planning Prevents Piss-Poor Performance" (as I got from a British army sergeant).
I've little hope that this will resolve without getting worse first.
Iraq isn't stable as one country. Iran has its eyes on as much influence as Syria looked for in the Lebanon. The Iraqi Kurds *are* largely happy and confident, but even that makes Turkey and Iran nervous, as their Kurdish regions have long desired union into a Kurdish state.

The War was a bad idea indeed.
However, pulling troops out now doubles the size of Iran who are the nutjobs of this world. Iran would take over Iraq and make it their own, which would then be the fault of both parties.

In what way did we lose? Because it lost popular support? Because we lost fewer soldiers than on D-Day alone? Because the people we saved from a brutal dictator are brown?

Have you been here and seen Iraq? Unless you have, you really can't see what the situation is. Since your liveral media outlets won't, I'll tell you a bit about the Kurds up North. They're the happiest that we captured of Saddam, because he was killing and terrorizing them the most. They're so grateful that we liberated them that they're building a university and naming it after America to thank us. But don't let facts bog you down.

We met all the goals outlined in the articles of war but we still couldn't force freedom upon them. It's like that old joke "the operation was a success but, unfortunately, the patient died."

True !!
The war which has weak loose base comes to such failure............But don't expect from Bush to admit this......he would never accept this reality ! He would keep on sending your troops there and would never feel sorry for the American and Iraqi lives !
