Not only that, but they won't even tell you what they found objectionable.

I do understand why they don't reveal the reporter. What I "don't" understand is why Yahoo! doesn't do a better job checking to see if the report is justified before sending out a violation.

Yes I do I have seen a lot of question/answers on here rude or whatever, but I would never report anyone its childlike and rude! There's so much crap on here reporting one person will not change anything.

not really, if I was reported and felt it was unjust or done just to hurt me I would be angry and start harassing the person who reported me (well someone else, I would not really do it) but that is why you can't know who did the reporting it would cause too many on line battles.

It is part of there privacy policy. Usernames nor detailed information will be released if you are reported due to some people taking advantage of that information finding them and potentially harming them physically or financially.

it is this confidentiality that gives these report-happy idiots security. they know they can continue to harass us and not worry about retaliation. it is how Y! caters to the simple. they don't bother lifting a finger to stop this harassment, but will not hesitate to remove your Qs and As and your profiles completely if they seem to slip just of outside their ridiculous so-called "guidelines".
Y! is becoming a gated-community with their useless regulations, complete with their own half-@$$ed "neighborhood watch" program. we can either fight back until they come to their senses, or we can ALL leave this ignorant place and live in the bigger better communities that Y! constantly compete with.

Simple love. They don't want you to hang for murder. See they do have a heart. Seriously I would like to know who it was if someone reported me. I'd like to hear from them just what I did to make them report me. Seems only fair. In the real world, you have the opportunity to face your accusers.

I think so people don't retaliate and report the reporter because they're mad.It would cause even more games.

It removes the temptation for vindictiveness by a person who may have felt slighted.
