I want to have a doll dress made out of the fabric of my wedding dress that looks the same as my dress did, and a doll that wears it (stuffed doll style, not porcelin) I plan to put her on a chair in my room, not display her in a case. How should I find someone with the skill to do this, perferably local so that I do not have to ship my dress? I live in San Diego.

Try going to local craft fairs. You should be able to find someone in your area hwo makes dolls/clothing and if you don't, ask the other crafters, they are usually a tight-knit group.

You could also look in the phone book under dolls or toys and find a dollshop. Call them, tell them what you are looking for and if they can't help you ask for a reference to someone who might be able to.

If I lived closer I would help you out!!! Good luck, this sounds like a lovely idea ( =
