As evidence I present:

1.) 2006 NCAA Tournament Championship (Basketball, embarrassed UCLA)

2.) 2006 National Championship (Football, complete domination of Ohio State 41-14)

3.) 2007 NCAA Tournament Championship (Basketball, destroyed OSU again)

It's just ridiculous. In all three of these championships, the games were never even close, outside of the first five minutes. This is an amazing accomplishment that will probably never be approached again. Jeremy Foley should run for president of the United States (except for that whole Ron Zook thing).

Hey, can we can the talk about programs that haven't been dominant since the stone age (i.e. Notre Dame, UCLA) And yes, UF is better than USC at football. You know how I can tell? We have a big fat BCS trophy that says so.

i will agree that the past year has been absolutely ridiculous for florida, no doubt. but they have 2 national championships in football and 2 in basketball. basketball just got good there in the late 90's and football just got good there in the early 90's. im a florida state football fan and a graduate of tennessee, so i have followed florida for a long time.

you said the best "athletic department" and i would place many schools higher than UF such as USC, UCLA, Ohio State, Michigan, and Tennessee.

if you look at all college sports, i would argue that Tennessee has the best program.......They will have 7 women's bballs titles after tonight. the mens team is getting good. six football national titles, and always one of the best in the sec. they win indoor or outdoor track and field almost every year. baseball team is always good. they have won or made it to the national championships in so many other less well known sports it is unreal (diving, cross country, etc.)

they have 19 total national championships and 141 sec championships (110 in mens sports, more than any other sec school, with florida having 89 in second). anybody know of a better track record than that? im sure there is one. i just think they are the best with competing every year in all sports.

EDIT: and since all the UF fans keep saying ohio state is a school for "losers" here is some stats for you.......

"Ohio State is one of only two universities (the University of Michigan being the other) to have won a national championship in baseball, men's basketball, and football. Ohio State has also won national championships in men's swimming & diving, men's outdoor track & field, men's golf, men's gymnastics, men's fencing, co-ed fencing, and synchronized swimming.[37] Since the inception of the Athletic Director's Cup, Ohio State has finished in the top 25 each year, including top 6 finishes in three of the last five years.[38] During the 2005-2006 school year Ohio State became this first Big Ten team to win conference championships in Football, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball. Ohio State repeated the feat during the 2006-2007 school year, winning solo championships in all three sports."

wow, what losers huh? even without that, they were number 1 in football and basketball for most of the year. they didnt win the whole thing, but they were better than 116 schools in football and three hundred something in basketball....boy some losers. give me a break

just because you have a PERFECT 12 months, doesnt make you the best athletic department, for instance, are you saying that UCLA, DUKE or Kentucky arent better basketball programs? they win almost every year, but U of F hasnt won since Donavan, also, can you tell me that Florida's football program is as good as USC's? SC wins every year, Florida is usually adverage. Sports Illustrated did a cover sotry last month saying Ohio State is no doubt the beast and most balanced program if you look at ALL there sports, not just the big two. But honestly if you are looking at the big two, how can you not say Texas, they win every year in both sports. So i think if you are calling Florida the best Athletic department based on 12 months in the over 100 year history of collegiate sports, thats a big abrupt, dont you think?

"Maybe ever?" You should probably just come right out and say that you're a homer and you're blinded by any truth because of your love for Florida. OR, you experiment with a lot of drugs. Ever? Best sports in the nation ever....read that again. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you're drunk at best.

Now this is a great feat, no doubt. I mean that's a great accomplishment, but anything past amazing is tilting on insanity. Why don't you go ahead and look up some truly amazing accomplishments in college sports before you come on here exploiting your ignorance.

So if you are embarassed about Zook then how can u talk about best ever. U take good with bad. Florida also got blown out in a title game against Nebraska. Ever hear of ND or Michigan who win in all sports from Football to swimming, gymnastics softball hockey track and field . To be considered great you have to do it for years like ND and MIchgan since the 1890's til now. And show class when doing it.

Let me tell you something. You won in basketball and football. Big damn deal! What about all the other men's sports? what about the womens sports? They all suck. Athletic Department encompasses all of those, not just two sports.

Look at Tennessee. We havent had a good football team in about two years. Theyre usually around average. Mens basketball? Sweet Sixteen. Mens Track--Usually pan out in the top ten. Swimming--same. Tennis- Excellent, anything else--hell if i know

LADY VOLS basketball--NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Lady vols softball--# in the nation, last years champs and soon to repeat. Track--i think they are #3, Swimming--excellence...rowing--excellence, tennis-tremendous!
They win the all-sports award every year

they take top honors in the SEC, there are better teams all around in the whole NCAA.

while people may not care about rowing or tennis or swimming or track, etc as much, they still count.

CHECK YOUR FACTS before you jump; the gun!!

Still a little drunk from the celebration party I see! Hopefully, when you sober up, you'll realize that was a stupid statement. The Gators played well all year and of course won in football, as well, but are you nuts? Get a book on NCAA sports and statistics. If you're going to make a ridiculous statement like that, you're gonna' need to do a little reading in that book.

Congratulations from a Gamecock T D. You deserve it.

Do y'all play baseball? lol The #1 Gamecocks do.

Mark your calendar for November 10, 2007 when the University of South Carolina Fighting Gamecocks meet the Florida Gators at Williams Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina. There ain't going to be a lucky blocked field goal this time. I didn't mention HIS name.

Edit: Looking at all sports, Wisconsin is #1.

Sports Illustrated, 4 weeks ago.. you are wrong.
Ohio State is the #1 college program in the NCAA. Regardless of them losing last night, you have no facts to support your claim.

How are you going to feel when the inevitable NCAA investigation and probation come? It's a southern school, after all, and they've been on probation before.
