That way I'll have a rather decent job to support myself. What do you think?

I think it's a great idea. My sister was a cosmetologist first and then went to college. She was able to work her way through college and had a good-paying job she could do. But being a cosmetologist is harder as you get older, so studying for something else is a good idea.

Good idea,,,However depending on what your state requires..Beauty school can take quite awhile. I went for 14 Months, my state required 2000 hours and the program was $10,500 back in 2000. So I have sudent loan payments of $108 for 9 more years.
Once you gradute and take the board exams, expect to ge a minium wage job...thats about all you make starting out, plus tips of course. I think maybe just get a minium wage job, and start CPA school now.
