Implantation happens 6-12 dpo and hcg isn't produced until after implantation has taken place. So, yes, the blood test could have been too early.

I havent read the responses, but everyone will probably say NO, and, I probably would have too, until my sister tested negative on one...
She was so sick and went to the hospital after several negative HPTs, and they did a blood test to find out why she was sick. It was negative.... This was 2 weeks after her period was due. So 2 weeks later she tested again on a HPT, and positive... This was a month past now... So she got an ultrasound and sure enough, her conception date was in June, the blood test she got was in July... so she was pregnant, and it was negative. I am sure its unlikley, but it is possible!

I believe that you are not pregnant, you could have different issues that can cause you cycle not to start on time including: stress, moving, weight gain/loss, lack of estrogen. So there are various things that can cause a late cycle. So save your money and in a week or two if you still have no sign of you period, take a blood test again.

Chances are no, and if you were pregnant the baby wouldn't be developing right because you do not have the hormones. So don't stress if you are trying to get pregnant just keep trying :) Good luck!
