Yesterday i copied one of files from hard disk to pen drive... from then on i am getting a pop up balloon displaying warning sign - windows-Delayed write failed as its heading and the message telling - windows was unable to save all data for the file E:\autorun.inf. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

Also from then on in 5 seconds intervel i hear brief creaking sound from the hard disk.

Is this any serious trouble? or is this something that i can handle following your instructions in this forum. Thanks to all advisors and help in advance.

It means that you pulled out the pen drive before it was done wirting everything. So it is sitting there complaining that it can not finish writing the file. Odds are the file(s) on the pen drive are not good.

Reboot the PC and the problem will probably be resolved. If not, then when it gives you the error again tell it to save the file somewhere else (anywhere - it does not matter), it will then finish writting the file to the new location and be happy again.

Good luck with the pen drive. Always do the "Remove Hardware" before taking out a pen drive to avoid this problem.

Try putting the pen drive in the same slot where you pulled it from. Your computer might finish what it was doing. If not try saving to another place as sugested. Next time be patient in removing any attached drive. Or do safe remove always.
