The study just showed how it could be done without harming the economy or very mildly if at all.

If, as the article indicates, the cost of producing green power falls to equal that of coal and gas power, it will not take an act of Congress to make it happen: electric companies will turn to it on their own. What Congress can do is promote research into methods to getting the costs down. We also need to recognize that no SINGLE alternative fuel will meet all of America's energy needs. The sustainable energy economy will be built on solar, wind, tides, methane, biomass, and a combination of other things. Popular Science had a recent article about a process that burns garbage, creates surplus energy, and produces hydrogen, oxygen, and a paste that can be used to create ceramic tiles.

We decided we didn't want a war anymore. Did the President listen?

We'll get alternative energy when the oil the oil runs out, 'cause the Bush family is heavily invested in oil. IF you hear they are buying farmland, it's time to invest in biomass.

No other energy source will be used until it is economically feasible. Capitalism at work. Anything the government mandates is doomed to failure. Easy enough.
