You have a good question...I think the problem is that we (US) aren't winning the war and the Dems want some sort of resolution. If you have a better idea regarding the war, I'd (sincerely) recommend you contact your local congressperson. They will read letters and their staff take phone calls.

No one has ever said or will say something so out of the air, that the Democrat are going to make them find a way home. That is just like you Republicans always adding on to something that the Democrat have said. No, we didn't send them anywhere George and Cheney did that and still sending more. The troops will be funded IF arrogant Bush agrees to a timetable which 75 % of Americans agree to bring our troops home. You like to see them being put in a meat grinder just because one man is so ignorant and is a Dictator.
The troops are funded all the way to July and we want then brought home. But, Bush and old Al Capone are use to having a blank check , which they will never get again, Agree with bringing the trioops home in 2008 are we will not give you the money to throw away when Iraq want train there own to fight for themselves. Bush doesn't care about those troops just like he don't about bodies still floating around In New Orleans
He is killing his Father by his craziness and has embarrassed his dad so bad that he cries, can't even walk with out a cane . Tell your great President to agree to disagree. Tell old ignorant no brain Bush. the little boy want get the money , we hold tight until he signs the agreement not veto .

If you think that the Democrats intend to leave the troops with no way home I'd be careful who you are calling a moron. Congress controls government with the purse strings, it's what they do. Nothing they have done qualifies as a "death sentence" for our troops. Our troops that are there right now will not be denied anything they need while still engaged in combat. Now, when those combat funds run out, thanks to Bush being a stubborn *** who wants to continue to stay in Iraq until the moon turns to cheese, he will have to bring them home. The Congress is doing what Americans voted them in to do. What did people expect when they know their only real recourse is to cut funding for future operations?

The Pentagon and White House are NOT, I repeat NOT going to leave the troops in harm's way if there is no money for the war. They will also not be any less equipped than normal. If there is no funding for the war, the only option is for the Pentagon to bring the troops home.

The funding is there. It funds them through to a timetable, and troops remaining in Iraq to follow the timetable will be funded.
It's not Dover Beach in WWII.
It's a plan...unlike anything that GW has come up with in the last 4 years. All King George wants is money money money to keep throwing at Iraq...hoping to prevent a civil war that can't be prevented.
If we don't get GW on a timetable, we will be stuck in Iraq for the next 100 years.

The Democrats are giving Bush every cent that he asked for. Bush just doesn’t like the very reasonable withdrawal dates. If Bush vetoes the funding bill then he will be the one cutting the funding.

If we can give out 30 million in humanity aid to Lebanon why cant we give support to our troops.Cause the government doesnt want to.How would I bring home are troops? I would do it in a matter of hours not in three month, or years. How you ask ? Easy your president is Commander in Chief all arm forces take their orders from the president, I would give the order of total evauation.

The war has went on way to long. I think they are going to stop funding because that will get the troops home sooner. They are not going to abandon them over there, they are wanting to bring them home asap.

Listen, we went into Iraq because they purportedly had and were developing weapons of mass destruction. We found no such evidence. It serves no purpose for our people to continuously be killed over there for a purpose that was not correct in the first place!

Its all a pissing contest between bush who refuses to budge and congress who is trying to represent the views of most Americans.
Its a tool they are using to try and get Bush to work with them but all he does is stay the course and threaten to veto everything.

Why pay for something you don't support?
Bringing the troops home will save more of their lives than leaving them over there in that quagmire!
