It is unfair

Fair, No.
Understand #18, yes. That doesn't mean I agree. This is Polls & Surveys.
* How are you?
* What's your name?
* How old are you?
* What time is it?
All of the above can be concittered collecting information as in a poll or survey. Do we really have to watch how we ask things?
How many people are doing good today?
How many different names do people here have?
What are the ages of users that are on now?
What is the time where you are?
A few words might, in their eyes, change it from chatting, but it's just a pain in the *** isn't it?

Well, sorry, guys, they own the site and just let us use it. After all they are not charging us a fee to use this site. They get to make the rules.

This is why P & S is such a popular section.

The rules are posted, so in a warped sort of way it is fair. We are given a choice: we participate or we don't.

I still have not understood how one can chat here. I mean you answer a question or ask a Question and then you wait for a long time for the answers. This is called a "Forum" not a Chat room and for a Reason.

anyone who post such a GREAT QUESTION and only gets 16 responses should be drawn and quartered ( lol ) as should Yahoo for the chatting crap

the only people who understand rule 18 are LIARS and you can tell a liar because they claim to understand RULE 18

No because pretty much anything can be considered chatting. That rule is really stupid and yahoo should get rid of it.

Let's just have a little chat about this...ok?

Chatting is supposedly a no no...but, when I answer a question am I not chatting with the Asker...it is just that he/she/it isn't there to chat back???? Think about this for awhile. You are not here with me but here I am chatting away about your chatting question...so who is at fault now? huh???? I don't get it....

I don`t understand their definition of chatting. If I was to answer one of your Q`s with an answer of another Q, (like I think I did with your Iris Q) they would probably say that constitutes chat. To me it doesn`t as it`s only answered the Q and is then finished with.

and my question is: who the hell is Y! to punish anyone? what exactly do they expect to happen when people are given the opportunity to post opinions and statements online? they abandon a large portion of their business by removing posts, flagging, suspending and deleting accounts. if i cannot enjoy being on this little website, then i will simply find a better one - and there are many many better ones! if they wish to drive us away, i for one will gladly oblige. i would like to see how long they stay up and running after the majority of their members leave because they are fed up with the bs that is shoveled at them on a daily basis. for everything they have on this site, there is a better version or a smarter concept on a different site, we all know this... even Y! we are doing these yahoos a favor by just being here - i say we make sure that they do not forget that! that is why i continue to fight!

No, since the site itself promotes a chatting kind of behavior, and yes I understand to the point anyone can, since it's worded so vaguely that it is impossible to know what they mean. FYI, if this were a "law" it would be unenforceable due to that problem.

I don't get it at all.

How's the question, "Who's annoying?" chatting?
What is wrong with chatting anyways?
Isn't talking about caves in Mars chatting ... technically???

My theory is that all my questions will now be deleted for showing I'm disapointed here on this little matter ... we'll see. It may be time 4 another sabatical.
