That woman simply infuriates me. All she is doing is playing to the anti-war sentiment in the country right now. She is looking ahead to the Presidential Elections, that's all. She is drunk with power, and she will only stir up trouble by going to Syria. Syria allowed Saddam Hussein to hide all his chemicals in their country in the weeks leading up to the invasion of Iraq that Hussein knew was coming. She is, in my view, consorting with the enemy, who killed over 3,000 people on 9/11 We, in Canada have the same problem with the Liberals. They want our troops home so they won't get hurt. They make me sick. What would Pelosi have done during the II World War, gone over to convince Hitler to stop being a bad boy ? That's what this reminds me of. I hope she gets thrown out on her posterior, and is given the bum's rush. Was I clear enough as to how I feel about that interfering air-head ?

The Axis of Evil was Iraq Iran and North Korea. Do you want to waterboard the three republican congressman who visited Syria a few days before Pelosi too?

Syria is not a part of the "Axis of Evil" as defined by Bush in the 2002 State of the Union Address--he said Iraq, Iran, and North Korea.
As there is no war declared between the US and Syria, the Speaker has every right to go there.

Ah! It's the enemy flavor of the month club.
Firsst, "Axis of Evil" is an artificial construct...a talking point.
If talking to those we do not agree with is conspiring then we are in a whole lot of trouble.
Some of the biggest problems in the Middle East come from a refusal to talk continually with the other players.
Talking is preferable to innuendo...to suggesting something is happening to inflame the situation...and weapons of mass destruction comes to mind there.
So I guess under your definition, Condy Rice should also be detained for speaking to many world leaders that some dislike.
We need more diplomacy, not less. We need to stop bullying and threatening because we will only get the same back.
Politics, particularly world politics is fluid. That and many hours of quiet diplomacy is the only way the World stayed intact in the Cold War.

just another example why the Yahoo Answers government section is full of hateful ignorant hypocrites like yourself.
The sad thing is that you have no idea that you are being used. See post above about the Republican delegation that was just in Syria. Also, there is a Republican delegation there as I type this. Not to mention a senior official of the State Department being there in March.
Apparently, when Dems visit Damascus, it Hurts America. When Repubs visit Damascus, it's okay. That's hypocrisy.
You've been played, lied to, and misled by people that you placed your trust in. You gonna take that?

I think she is dumb for thinking she can talk sense to Syria and get results and I can't stand her and the things she stands for. With that being said I wish her luck and hope I am wrong. If she can get results then I get to eat my words but I will gladly do that because peace is something that I dream of and hope for more than anything else. I think Pelosi is a threat to America but I am not the know all and end all when it comes to what will bring peace in the world and she was put in office by the greatest political process in the world (in my opinion) so I will give it a chance.

Republican Representatives Frank Wolf, Joe Pitts and Robert Aderholt were in Syria over the weekend and met with Assad. Why weren't you (and the white house) outraged then?

I think we should waterboard all you neocons for not having these same problems with your party sending many of their people over there
Nancy Pelosi is the third in line for the Presidency DOLT
She needed to go before BUSH came up with another pack of lies !!!!
In reporting that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is planning a visit to Syria accompanied by a bipartisan congressional delegation this week, several media outlets highlighted White House criticism of Pelosi's trip but did not note that a Republican-led delegation met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on April 1 -- nor did they note the White House's inconsistency in criticizing Pelosi for her trip but remaining silent on the GOP-led visit.
Indeed, on April 1, Reps. Frank Wolf (R-VA), Joseph R. Pitts (R-PA) and Robert Aderholt (R-AL) traveled to Damascus and met with Assad, two days before Pelosi's scheduled trip

She probably just went there so she could buy some genuine persian carpets at the taxpayers expense, or to tell President Bashar Assad that her door is always open to terrorists who oppose the horrible Bush regime'.
I'm suprised the Mosque she visited didn't come crashing down when she went in the door.
