I've seen a bunch of people on this site use "Islamic Fascists" now to refer to Muslims. What's the deal? I recognize that many governments in countries with predominantly Muslim populations are not quite so democratic, but don't we have ourselves to blame for that? Think about Iranian history - we removed a democratic government we thought was communist and replaced it with a corrupt dictatorship - not to justify their actions today, which are unexcusable. Back to the point, can someone please explain to me why the word "Islamic Fascist" is used?

Why?

Because they are hate-filled morons who mindlessly accept what other hate-filled morons say -- such as Bush, and hate radio, and Fox "News".

The people who created that and similar expressions use words to obfiscate, create hatred and terror, and know they can get away with anything.

I'm not anti-Islam, but your answer on the holocaust question regarding Islamic nations with democracies is pretty far fetched. Other than Indonesia and Malaysia, what major Islamic nation has a democracy. And I mean a real democracy, not like Egypt where Mubarak gets reelected everytime since 1981 with little organized opposition in rigged elections or Pakistan, which is a democracy, yet currently has a dictator in power. Musharraf is just keeping the peace though, right.

The thing is, countries like Iran are governed so poorly, it doesn't matter what the people think. If the Iranians (whom I like) think that their government really is retarded, why don't they overthrow it. They overthrew the Shah. Oh, and the Shah was actually not that bad of a ruler. If he had stayed in power and not died, Iran would probably be the most advanced and prosperous nation in the greater Middle East.

Or I guess advancement is not nearly as important as Islamic Theocracy (since you don't want to use Islamic Fascists)?

People call Muslims "Islamic Fascists" because they only see what is on television and media does not always say the truth I `m not trying to say that Islamic country are perfect and no one is abused there but neither is other country. As long as every body is focusing in events happening there so they Will concentrate in that part of people controlling and powering and those people have to do that because it`s in the well being of other countries to control petroleum countries like Lybia Algeria Iran.....

People say that Muslim shoot every body because they are not so but the Truth is that Islam have spreed with peace from the begin and the prohibit Mohamed have tried to orient people to GOD like Jusess does but nowadays Muslims(a part of them) have other ideas that Islam have to be spread by force and terror which is opposite to the main idea of Islam .

The main reason to call Muslims "Islamic Fascists"is to humiliate them and to convince the world that they still living in Sahara but you can look at Dubai,Qatar,Malaysia,Lebanon before the last war....

If we say there is no freedom of religion it`s not true you can see in Egypt there is a lot of Cristian even it`s an Islamic country Lebanon more than 20% of the population is Cristian Palestine Syria every where there is churches and they can believe in any religion .

Fascism is defined as "A system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business and/or religious leadership, together with belligerent nationalism".

I think you must agree that as far as liberal and conservative are concerned, many of the current Muslim leaders aren't liberal. That being said, fascists come from the far right and are belligerent. I think you also cannot deny that many leaders of Muslim nations, combined with so many of the religious leaders, are militant nationalists.

Case in point. Iran President Ahmedinejad gave a speech wherein he said that Muslims were going to take back Spain. As you know, there are Muslims who believe that once someone is Muslim, he/she must always remain such. Likewise, some believe any place that was Muslim must always be such. The Muslims used to control Spain until they were booted in the 15th Century. Ahmedinejad believes Spain belongs in the Muslim fold.

If that is not militant nationalism, then nothing is. Since Muslims are seen as being from the right, (right as in political, not as in correct) and are militant nationalists, then the term fascist applies. Ergo - "Islamic Fascist" is an accurate description.

Now, you will notice I didn't get into why they decided to become fascists. That is an argument for another day. But they are fascists.

May be because. In all the muslim countries there is no religious freedom. There is no freedom of expression. People of other religions are oppressed or persecuted. Example Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia etc. Women in Islamic countries dont have proper rights. Recently a Woman Minister was killed by Fundamentalist.
Muslims discriminate the people between beleivers and non beleivers(kafirs)
Another reason may be Muslims dont respect other religion.

There are several verses in Quran which clearly depicts intolerance towards followers of other religions(non believers)

Islamic Fascists is a term that people use to describe Muslim extremists (not mainstream Muslims) because of their total lack of tolerance for others and their militarist culture which is quite similar to traditional fascism.

I believe the term is "Islamofacist".

It is a derogotory term meant to indicate the total lack of tolerance for another point of view. As fundamentalist Muslims have been documented killing anybody who don't agree with their religion (shooting women in the back of the head in Afghanistan, stoning women and men to death in Iran, cutting heads off with a kitchen knife while chanting "allah akbar" on the internet).

For the same reason we call basketballs "round". If the shoe fits, my friend...

When Southern Baptists start blowing themselves up in marketplaces believing they will go to heaven and get serviced by 72 virgins, then we can discuss Outlaw Christianity, but so far, every recent terrorist act (EVERY!) has been committed by some whacked out Muslim thinking he (or she) is serving Allah by killing people.

Some freakin' religion!
