80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

There is no point, there is no deeper meaning. You are alive, be happy, it will not last long. I am tired of people sitting around and romanticizing the mysteries of life. There is no meaning, and it is not sacred. Let me ask you this, if every thing that has ever lived is dead, and everything that is alive is going to die, what could be the purpose. One more question, are you so insecure that you have to sit around and think about what is the meaning or life to try and somehow justify you meaningless existence, does it really bother you that you will probably never accomplish anything truly great or be remembered past maybe another generation.

God’s word tells us that He is self-existing and ever-existing. In eternity past God was there. At a certain point he made a decision to create man. God’s desire was to have this man express Him in His image and represent Him with His authority earth (Gen 1:26-28) The bible tell us in the very first page of Genesis that God’s creation of man was different from His creation of all other things. He created man in His own image. Let us illustrate this matter by using a glove. A person’s hand cannot fit into a handkerchief because it does not have the image or form of the hand. Because the glove is in the image, the likeness, and the form of a hand, it is able to contain the hand. A glove is made in the form of a hand for the purpose of containing the hand. In the same way, the human life was created according to the image of God so that God could dispense Himself as the divine life into the human life. Man was created not only to express God but also to be God’s representative authority. The unique way for man to express God and represent God is to receive God as his life that man may become a counterpart of God. Man was created with the capacity to receive and contain God’s divine life. All of man’s human virtues, such as love, honor, and goodness, were created by God so that man may have God’s live and live out the divine attributes

Each person finds their individual "meaning" to life.
For some, it may involve marriage and family.
For another, it might be teaching an academic subject or tutoring a young artist or musician.
For another, it might be complete, total hedonism.
For another, it might be the life of a slacker; taking the path of least resistance wherever possible.

Man's chief and highest end is to glorify God, and fully to enjoy him forever. The very light of nature in man, and the works of God, declare plainly that there is a God; but his Word and Spirit only do sufficiently and effectually reveal him unto men for their salvation.

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.
I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.
You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.
The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

You are not asking a question. You are preaching. The problem with preaching is ... no questions are asked. Only answers are given and you must believe those answers. Canned philosophy. Open and eat up. No need to think. Just believe. Step right up folks.......
Pardon me, I'm gonna puke.

Nothing has intrinsic meaning. What something means is determined by whomever or whatever is deciding what it means. The same thing means different things to different people. The person who is your mother is not your mother to your grandmother. To your grandmother, the same person is her daughter. In this example, the same person means a different thing to different people, to you - Mother, To Grandma - Daughter. So it is with the meaning of life, and all other things. Life means whatever you decide it means. Good luck; with your attitude you're going to need it.
