i know that it can take anyone any number of days...

Roughly 3-4 weeks. Mine came out in pieces instead of one big chunk, so that might be why it took longer than usual.

I lost mine on a Monday and went into labor on Wednesday, and that was my first baby, and she was a month early. So, you never know. Some people will tell you that you can lose it and go full-term. After I lost my mucous plug though, I started leaking tiny amounts of amniotic fluid, so I called the doc, and they finally agreed to check me, and sure enough, I was losing all my amniotic fluid, so they checked me into labor and delivery. My water broke fully later that night, and the contractions started right away. Baby was born around 20 hours later.

With ds#1 I dilated really early (24 weeks i was at 2cm) and I may not have noticed it at the time. I carried him till 34 wks and never noticed. With dd and ds#2 I had a cerclage and I believe I may have lost it when they snipped the stitch. Im pregnant with ds#3 and I began dilating with him at 24 wks and I know for sure I lost my mp at 26 wks.....Im sitting at 28 wks now and he's still in there soooo........its a to be continued answer.....
