40 weeks is technically full term, but they do consider 38 weeks term also. Anything before that, there is a higher chance of the baby's lungs not being fully developed.

A pregnancy is considered to have reached term between 37 and 43 weeks from the beginning of the last menstruation. Babies born before the 37 week mark are considered premature, while babies born after the 43 week mark are considered postmature.

Hope I helped Casey:)

38-40 weeks. I had one baby induced at 38 weeks, and he was considered full-term.
My second baby came at only 36 weeks, and he was considered pre-mature. You may get varying stories from different doctors. But my doctor, and my research says 38-40 is considered full term.

The technical number that OB's go by is 40 weeks. However, the average for most women to actually go into labor is closer to 41 weeks.
