you need an FCC license.

Well you will need an FCC License and the necessary equipment. A friend of mine bought an established AM Station and do well with that as the cheap to pick up compared to FM. But, you will still need an FCC License in your name or someone you hire to work on your transmitter.

Check out Ramsey's electronics, you can get a free catalog. Pages 4-7 are transmitters and page 8 is antennas. You can buy a kit and build it yourself. You don't need a license, these transmitters are only 1 watt.
