Well, they have found that the depo can cause serious problems, such as bone loss. Also, weight gain is one of the most common side effects of the depo. I'm considering getting the implant as well. I currently use Nuva-ring, and I love it.

Well from personal experience please DONT use the depo shot. I gained 60 lbs. It took 11 months to get my period back and now that I do have it back it looks like Im going to be headed to the doctor very soon because Im having to change not only a tampon but a pad every hour to hour and a half because the blood is over flowing the tampon. Sorry for being graphic!

Don't get the depo injection, it causes major weight gain. As for the implant, I don't know how good it is, but the Nuva ring is wonderful.

Please don't do depo. I'd never ever recommend that for anyone. I was on it for four years and had horrid mood swings, weight gain, among other things. You also need a bone density check since it really messes up your bone health.

I'd go with anything else but depo. (i'm on Kariva with no problems)
