= 5xy (x + 3y)


(2x + 5)(3x - 4)
(2x)(3x) + (2x)(-4) + (5)(3x) + (5)(-4)
6x^2 - 8x + 15x - 20
6x^2 + 7x - 20

[5xy is common to both terms]

(2x + 5)(3x-4) [This is an expression -- not an equation.
= 6x^2 +15x -8x -20 = 6x^2 +7x -20

=6x^2-8x+15x-20
