I have a little tank that we set up about a week or two ago. We had three snails and two dwarf frogs. Yesterday we came in to find one dead snail, now the other two are dead. What could be happening and what should I do to protect my frogs? HELP!

Okay, we I did a lot of research on the frogs and snails and found their temp and eating habits, I asked the pet store about running the tank for a while and they said that it wasn't needed. By the way - my snails are dead - do you have to be mean? Jeez!

Did you cycle the tank? It takes several weeks you know. Stuff dies when people don't do their homework.

Have you added anything to the tank that has copper in it? Check your dechlorinator, any food that you might be giving them, or any other chemicals that you're adding to the tank. Copper is very bad for any invertebrates, but if it is the culprit, then I believe that your frog should be fine.

I shouldn't think not cycling an aquarium would kill a snail, they tend to be fairly hearty creatures and shouldn't produce so much waste that would cause them to die off...
