Fastest way is to get a good levelling spec - heavy on the feral, with some resto for healing in between. Lots of questing - use the quest find feature on thotbott.com to find level-appropriate quests. If you hit one you can't beat, skip it, move on to the next. Dungeon runs, especially in the Outlands, also give some pretty good experience.

If your level is high enough, quest in the outlands. Monsters aren't worth much there, but quests carry big rewards.

Getting there should also be a matter of quest, quest, quest. Killing mosters does net xp, but attach a quests xp to that to really get going.
