Use the quadratic formula...

x^2 - 4x + 5 = 0

x = [4 +- sqrt(16-20)]/2
= [4 +- sqrt(-4)]/2
= 2 +- i

So your roots are 2+i and 2-i

x^2 + 5 =4x
x^2 -4x +5 = 0
x= [4 +/- sqrt(16-4(1)(5)]/(2*1)
x= [4+/-sqrt(-4)]/2
x= [2 +/- 2i]/2
x= 1+i and 1-i
