I was totally addicted to diet coke! I'm 12 weeks pregnant and have limited myself to one in the morning. I asked my Dr and she said that too much is no good because it depleats calcium which is important for both me and baby! She said one a day is ok. Try cherry juice or other juices may be that will help!
Congrats!
Best wishes!

The problem with diet soda is ASPERTAME, the artificial sweetner. It can pass through the umbilical cord to the baby, and until a child is 2 years old it can cross the blood brain barrier.

Doctor's now say that you can have up to 2 servings of caffeine per day, but I'd stick with regular soda.

I am sure you are ok, but I know that there are a lot more chemicals used to make diet soda. Your body has a hard time knowing what to do with them since they are unatural. Me personally, I would just drink a regular soda instead.... in moderation of course.

Soda (diet or other) is NEVER healthy for you to drink. Try to limit it to one or two a day (sodas, not packs). When you are not pregnant green tea is good for you in moderation, but I would suggest not drinking it while oyu are pregnant.

The chemical they use to substitute for sugar has been shown to cause birth defects in rats. So, I would avoid them if possible, but in small amounts, you'll probably be fine. I know that if I deny myself something I am craving, I become a lunatic...so I would limit them to maybe 3 a week.
Go for the full sugar stuff...more calories, less chemicals, though.

They don't want you to have anything with aspertaime in it. Which can cause birth defects. And it is in most diet sodas/drinks.

I drink diet soda on the advice of both my doctor and dietitian. They are OK as long as they don't contain saccharin. (most don't... tab used to.) Drink them in moderation and know that you will be OK. Good luck
