A good tip on middle names, if you're not having to use family names or something, is to pick something that has a different number of syllables than the first name. It tends to flow better.

That's why people remember the name "Christopher Robin". A lot of authors use this rule to keep names in the mind of the reader.

Halle Kayde - Eeek. What about Haley Katherine?

Rory - This is a male name, what about, Romy Penelope or Rosemary Penelope, with the cute NN, Romy Lola.

Chandler - Male name, Catherine Andrea?

Chandlee - Look above, but this is a made up name.

Dylan - A guys name. Eww.

Joaquin - Very nice, Joaquin Edward?

Jack Taylor - Taylor is great to see on a boy, Jack is amazing and fresh as always. Nice chose.

Dillon - Boring. Dominic Taylor?

My favorites would be Romy Penelope and Jack Taylor/Dominic Taylor. Nice list.

It's good that you're trying to pick original and unusual names. However, keep in mind that something that is very out of the ordinary can be hard for the kid to spell, and can cause them a lot of grief in school with pronounciation. Now, I have a very simple name myself, so I could go for a little more originality. :)

Looking at the name Halle Kayde (the only girl name that I liked), I might suggest something a little different. If it's Halle, people will constantly ask if it's after Halle Berry, which can be annoying. So you might want a variation of that- maybe Hayley Kayde.

For a boy, I would suggest something longer and kind of old fashioned, because those kind of names can be shortened/put into nicknames. For example, for the name Jonathon, the boy can be called Jon, Johnny, JJ (or whatever the middle initial is).

I suggest going to babynames.com, because they have a whole selection on celebrity names.

The only name from your girl list that I kinda like is Rory. Chandler and Dylan are strictly boy names to me. From your boy list I like Dillon. Jack is waaayyy over-used IMO!

Middle names for Rory. I'd go with something very feminine since Rory is a unisex name. Elisabeth, Katherine, Camille, Kristine, Susannah, Noelle.

Middle names for Dillon. James, Christopher, Thomas, Thaddeus, Joshua, Andrew, Bryce, Edward, Grant, Joel, Keith, Matthew, Patrick, Reece/Rhys, Wyatt.

All of the girl's names except Chandlee and Halle are typically boys' names. I'd love to tell you that Joaquin is a terrible name (sore Bruin's fan) but its not, I love it. What about Joaquin Taylor?

Good Luck.

If you're thinking of naming your daughter Chandler or Dylan, usually male names, then you should give her a feminine middle name in case she is unhappy being confused with men all the time.
