UVA or Virginia Tech

While Virginia Tech is a decent school, there is no comparison between the two.
The University of Virginia is one of the best public universities in the country (along with Berkeley and Michigan).
US News ranks U of VA in the top 25 universities in the country (pblic or private). Virginia Tech ranks a respectable 77.

No contest: UVA wins.
Better undergrad and grad business school
Better pre med and med school
Better pre law (basically just liberal arts) and law school
WAYYYY better liberal arts (history, english, religion, foreign language, biology, chemistry, physics, etc).
Better overall sports program (although tech has been winning at football for a while; uva has MUCH better overall sports)
Much MUCH Prettier campus
Better looking students (truth; if u need proof just look it up)
Much classier (although some students are borderline elitist; however, you get bad people everywhere. at uva, its more often elitists, at tech its more ofter rednecks)
The only things tech people can try to claim are engineering, architecture, and football
1) Some of tech's engineering programs are a little bit better; some are not (e.g. chemical, biomedical)
2) Not gonna lie; tech has a VERY good architecture school
3) But overall, they cant touch our sports program (tennis, lax, soccer, rowing, baseball, basketball)

UVA and VT or almost polar opposites. Virginia Tech is a big engineering school with a "blue collar" atmosphere. UVA is a bit smaller, and has an elitist academic atmosphere. They're both very difficult to get into, but it really depends on what type of person you are and what you want to study. If you wear dresses/polo shirts to football games and want to study liberal arts, UVA is your school. If you enjoy four-wheeling and sports and want to study engineering, or business, VT is the place for you.

Check out University of Virginia (Darden) it's one of the top business schools in the country.

What type of degree do you want? If you want to have something to do outside of school and don't want to travel for hours, UVA is your school. Want to concentrate on your studies? Go to VaTech.
