i have internet for my desktop, but i dont have a router so i was seeing if i could use a phone cord thing to go on with my laptop...(im only 15) HELPPPPPPPPPP TELL ME IF IT WILL WORK OR NOT

If your laptop has a modem (whether it's built-in or you plug it into the computer), you could get online by a dial-up connection using the phone line. You'd need to get the exact settings from an ISP, and then you're off and running.

It'll be slow, but it'll work for e-mail and simple web-surfing and software updates for things like Windows and anti-virus.

Whether dial-up is a good way for **you** to get online depends on what you want to do. For example, if you like online gaming or downloading music and videos, look into other ways of getting online, because dial-up is WWWWAAAAYYYYY too slow for those!

If your ISP supplies phone numbers for Dial Up access, it should work.

A $20 Wifi router is a better choice.

call phone company like bright.net or a DIALUP place! and have them to set you up an account! it cost so much a month but it is exstremly slow! they will tell you or come out and set it up for you

it is called dialup, when you call, ask for dialup internet acess!
