I am replacing the deck belt on my MTD yard machine riding mower. How do you remove the pully belt guide pins?

I am replacing the deck belt on my MTD yard machine riding mower. I have removed the deck and I'm ready to replace the deck belt. The problem is there are two pins attached to the frame. These pins keep the belt from sliding off the engine pully. They must be removed so I can completely replace the deck belt. How do I remove those pins?

The last MTD I owned had bolts for pins. They screwed into the deck. Check and see if there may be a nut on top of the deck holding the "pins".
