How long after a c-section is it recommended to wait before getting pregnant again? My daugter just turned 4 months and I think I may be pregnant again. OMG. Help! Thanks........

Yikes. I feel for you. My friend has two c-section babies 17 months apart. Not usually a good thing because your body needs about a year or so to recover from the first one.
Good luck!!!

When you choose to have sex it is impossible for a pregnancy to be an "accident". When you choose to have sex you also choose the consequences that come with having sex and one of those consequences whether you like it or not is pregnancy. I am fully aware that regular birth control is not 100% effective I got pregnant on the pill TWICE. But that doesn't mean I had "accidents". I CHOSE to have sex both times I became pregnant. And if you would have used a spermacide, condom as well as regular birth control there would have been a lesser chance for an "accident".
That said, it takes at least a full year for a uterus to recover from a c-section. It is major abdominal surgery and takes the body at least a year to completely recover...I'm surprised your physician didn't discuss this with you. I had a military physician and SHE discussed it with me and it is said that military is the worst...I guess that analogy is wrong. I did everything I could that first year to keep from becoming pregnant again, even to abstention. I didn't want to be pregnant that soon after having a baby anyway. Yes "accidents" do happen, but human life isn't accident.

I had a c-section with my first and was pregnant again when he was 8 months old, but as long as they tell you it's safe to have sex then it's safe to get pregnant! If you have had your staples out (def should be by now) and aren't feeling any pulling around the incision sight you should be healed. GO FOR IT

i had a c-section and then had another about 21 months later too, but it was not as close as yours, just ask they dr about it they say you can do everything after about 8 weeks aftre c-section that you did before like work , safe to have sex, swim, drive car so i would say you are fine

You'll probably be fine if you are. While I hate to hold Britney Spears up as a role model for anything, she had two c-sections almost exactly a year apart.

For any mother, they really suggest you wait at least a year so that your body has time to recover. Having babies this close together does increase your risk of complications. You should call your caregiver.
