Yes it sounds like things are starting! You may be experiencing back labor and usually lose bowels me that labor is imminent. For some reason, your body wants to empty out because it senses that labor is just around the corner. Take it easy, but be sure to contact your doctor if the pain lasts. You can be in full-blown labor and only have back pains. I would hate to see you wait too long and not make it to the hospital. If anything, I would just call your doctor now and ask them what you should do. This close to your due date more than warrants a talk with your OB!
Good luck and congrats!

Sounds like something could be moving. lol, no pun intended :)
But your baby can come any time now. I didn't have 'back labor' all my pain and contractions seemed to be in my front and down low, but I've heard of a lot of women who get achy backs and take much of their labouring pain in their backs.
If this is your first baby, chances are you'll be a day or so before you have the baby, but if you feel your belly tightening(contracting), go to the hospital and have them check you. They'll give you a rough estimate on how long things will take to progress..and don't worry, women go in every single day in false labour and are sent home, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Walking can bring on labour as can a really warm bath(no too hot, don't wanna raise that blood pressure!). When I was in early labour I went to the hospital with contractions..the nurse told me to go have lunch, go home have a hot bath and if it was false labour that the contractions would stop and go away, but if it was real labour it should bring them on must more faster and furious...and it was fast and furious :) So if you wanna try and help it along, go pour yourself an nice bath.
Get your bag packed and by the door first, just in case ;)
Good luck and congrats on the baby :)
I'm so excited..I'm 22 weeks with number two..can't wait for August to come to hold this precious baby in my arms :)))

It very well could be the start of your labor.. It is proven that up to 90% of women will deliver atleast a week early, and around 5% will go beyond there due date the other 5% is accounted for do to the induction process.. If these pains start again get you a watch with the second hand and keep track of how often they are happening and how long it last.. Trust me when I say this you will know when your contractions start. There is no missing it....

Sounds like things could be starting, but just remember with your first, you still could be a week or more away from giving birth. You may want to walk to enlist gravity's help. Take hot baths to relax you, as long as your water hasn't broken. Contractions feel like a tightening of your abdomen. They usually start in the back and move to the front. If you are having them and they slow down or stop when you start doing something, like walking, they are probably not true contractions. I have heard that you can't talk or do anything else during a true contraction because it is so intense.

yes you are probably close to going into labor i know of many women who had sharp pains and dull pains in thier back right before they went to the hospital. yes a loose bowel movement can also mean that as well i would just get your bags ready and have someone close by to take you to the hospital because at this point it could be a few hours or a few days but i think you are probably going into labor....
good luck and i hope for you to have a healthy and happy baby....

I had this with my daughter.
My family rushed me to the hospital because they thought
I was in labor. The doctor sent me home and told me my body was preparing itself and that the baby could be born sometime in the next 2 weeks. I gave birth 3 days later. However if your contractions get worse don't let our options stop you from calling the doctor and making the trip to the hospital. The baby could come anytime now. Good luck and I hope you have a good delivery and a healthy baby.

its possible but you could still be a few days away. with my first one night i started getting back pain and stomach pain but not like timed out like they say it was just constant...i suffered through the night with it then finally in the morning went to the hospital but still didn't have my daughter till 5pm. with my second one i started getting almost like like period cramps one night after like 10pm but fell asleep and when i got up they were gone. this went on for 2 nights the same way. the 3rd night i couldn't sleep and they got bad enough that i went in about 2:30 am and had my daugther around 9 am. so everyones is different. you may be starting but you'll know when the real contractions start and you need to go in :) congrats ! we're having our third in july :)

The strange feeling in your lower back/butt was probably the pelvis spreading in preperation for birth. When this starts happening usually the baby drops pretty soon after--within a week. It really doesn't mean anything about when you will go into labor though.

It certainly does sound like things are starting.
The loose bowel movement is a dead givaway.
Keep timing those contractions and keep smiling, the end is near!!
