Our president is holding our soldiers hostage in Iraq which in my eyes is tantamount to torture. Do we need to invoke the Geneva Conventions in order to protect the troops from their own government? It's time to put to rest the pathetic notion that anyone who doesn't support shoving our brave men and women into King George's meat grinder doesn't support the troops. I want to hear one, just ONE, right wing pundit or politician explain how wanting to save our troops from getting blown up for a lost cause doesn't count as support. You don't throw an anvil to a drowning man and claim you're trying to save his life, yet that is exactly what's happening to our troops.

I dont believe setting a deadline is endangering the troops.
I believe setting a deadline endangers the Iraqi people. Ya know, the people whose lives we've turned upside down by going over there? The people who will suffer if we leave them unprotected?
The democrats need a plan to make sure EVERYONE involved stays safe. The idea shouldnt be arguing over when the troops come home and how the funding works. When asked for a solid plan, the democrats could only come up with "bring them home now or we insist that you bring them home later." Come on, this isnt a plan.
We need a plan that will get our troops home as soon as possible and as safely as possible, that wont leave the Iraqi government and Iraqi people in limbo. Thats the plan I want to see, and im hoping the democrats and republicans, and the Iraqi government can work together and get that.
As far as saying the voters are watching, we indeed are. And I have to say, although the republicans havent done anything impressive, so far the democrats have been pretty silly as well.

I know what it is like to live in a forced terrorist situation.
We lived day to day under dictatorship right here in America, in our own home. Nobody listened to our cries for freedom, nobody cared! Never knowing if we would awaken the next day, or if somebody was going to find us dead!
We suffered by a minor girl who wanted everyone to please all her whims, if we corrected any of her wrongful doings, we suffered her wrath. She would go and tell some horrible LIES to teachers, neighbors, outside family members, friends. They would call the children's Services. The Child Services catered to her little whims. (They helped her selfish cause.)
The things she did, would shock you, I still have a hard time believing all the horrible things she did, not to just us, but others as well. The sad thing is many of her victims knew, and yet they would NOT help us in the end! Most of those people we have nothing to do with any more, nor do I ever want to.
The reason I support the war on terror, and the war in Iraq, is because first of all THEY BROUGHT IT TO US ON 9-11. ALL of those victims and their families have a RIGHT TO JUSTICE. (Just as we do!) All the people in Iraq suffered greatly under DICTATORSHIP, He murdered his own country men and woman! That right there was a good enough of a cause for war!
I just have to shake my head....Why wouldn't we look the other way, while millions get murder in another country, we close our eyes and turn and deny our own country men and women who suffer right here in the land of the FREE????? (Free for who, the guilty!!!!!!!!)
I don't like this war, and NO none of us ever wanted ANY wars, but my family didn't ask for nor want the war we had to FIGHT all by ourselves.
We lost, she went free. We move from state to state to keep our little ones safe. She is grown now and married. She has a life, we have to keep starting over.
RUN from this war (withdraw!) AMERICA and we all will be starting it ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! GET A CLUE.
In about 10 to 15 years, where do you think our 8, 9, and 10 year old"s will be? FIGHTING A WAR WE TURNED OUR BACKS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Setting a date is allowing our enemies to make plans around the date set, which is giving them an extreme advantage. He has said that he was willing to discuss ANYTHING with the Democrats but the Democrats have nothing to discuss when their ONLY solution to Iraq is to surrender. The president has the constitutional RIGHT to conduct foreign affairs and certainly Iraq comes under the heading of that. The ONLY thing the Democrats have given is witch hunts and more witch hunts, an increase in the minimum wage and now they are working towards the largest tax increase in HISTORY. They also have embarrassed the nation with their whimpering and begging to surrender and trying to circumvent the constitution to do so. You need to stop drinking the kool-aid. It is NOT plain and clear that the Democrats were voted in to END THE WAR. They certainly were NOT voted in to increase taxes. The BLAME is on the 0 negative bleeding heart left wing fanatics that do nothing constructive for their country but DO throw mud (BS against the wall) to see how much will stick.

That's the plan....a date...Wow....Comprimise....The left has flip flopped on both the Troop Surge (from supporting to not support, from not supporting arbitrary dates to now backing it)
Also alot of the political analyst are now saying 08 is not a sure thing for the left, the more the party continues to fracture and just posture plans that, even the Washington Post has said are more about election campaigning and votes than real plans. You may be correct in saying voters are watching, but you may not like the outcome.

Yeah quitting is really a plan. Is it so hard to understand that announcing when you are going to quit only emboldens the terrorists more? is this so hard to figure out? In fact I blame the congressional democrats for any future combat casualties in Iraq after this. Yeah I said it deal with it.

The voters know greedy dems tied MILLIONS in bribery pork to a bill that requires Bush to either choose suicide for Iraqis + pork + troop funding OR he can stand his ground and get a clean bill without a timeline (suicide for Iraqis) + no pork + troop funding.
If he vetos, he's protecting the interests of the Iraqis, who have NO HOPE with an abrupt withdrawal.
Americans wanted withdrawal, but not this silly ill-conceived, suicidal plan the dems put forth. Remember, they're bent on sabotage, not following the American will.

ugh, my gosh. You people keep fishing and get nothing. How do you know they are not talking about it? I mean, seriously. Lets say they announce they are getting together to establish a plan, yet when they leave, they don't tell about their plan, doesn't that imply that a timeline was set? Yes... soooo, how long do the terrorists/insurgents wait? Who knows, but they know if they wait, they will win.
