If you used your ISPs email service then yes, but if you used a web mail service like yahoo or hotmail, then no.
For that reason I have domains at Godaddy.com and create my own email addresses which get forwarded to my ISPs email server.
I recently changed ISPs, so all I had to do was change my forward to address from one to the other, and the email address I give to my friends stayed the same. They don't even know I switched (except for those I told about it!)

If the e-mail address was provided by your old broadband supplier, then yes it will disappear when they close the old account.
Suggestion: Ask your old supplier if they've got any setup for forwarding e-mail for a time for free. Then you've got some grace time to make sure that everyone who needs to know finds out about your new e-mail address.

Yes, if it ends in @broadband supplier.com foe example.
If it's Yahoo, Google or Hotmail, for example,no. These are web mail addresses that aren't ISP dependent.
