I work for a university in a fairly casual office. I got a note from my supervisor telling me that I needed to choose clothing that was less revealing. When I met with her to discuss it she told me that it wasn't WHAT I was wearing, it was what it looked like ON me. When I asked her what she meant she told me, and I quote

"You're very pretty and you're busty and though I know you can't help that, clothing that looks perfectly appropriate on less-womanly women looks sexy on you and I've noticed that some of the older men in the office stop by your desk to check out your...um...goodies."

So what do I do about this? I'm 5'3" and a size 8-10 with a 36D bust. What sort of styles would be more 'conservative' without making me look heavy?

www.landsend.com has really nice women's blouses that are office appropriate. Here's an example: http://www.landsend.com/pp/34sleeveSplitneckNoIronPinpointShirt-47297_167098_59.html?CM_MERCH=PAGE_47297&sid=0788153065116184080

If you wear v-neck or scoop neck tee shirts, choose ones that are little loose fitting and that have a higher neckline so your cleavage is concealed.

Wear the same color intensity on top & the bottom. ex. Navy blouse w/ black pants. This lengthens you and avoids making your top a focal point.

Avoid wearing necklaces. Wear your hair up or pulled back if it drapes anywhere below your shoulders.

The suggestion to wear a minimizer bra is a good one. There are comfortable ones that aren't constricting.

Avoid wearing high heels to work. They make your posture a bit more sexy. Stick to flats or low heels.

This supervisor who called you on this could be facing harassment charges if you were to present this complaint to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. However, since you apparently do not want to present a complaint. The supervisor who suggested you wear something more appropriate to her taste, should take you out and buy the clothes she wants you to wear. I would write her a note back telling her you will wear what she buys you to wear at work.

Just don't wear anything that shows your cleavage. Button up shirts... not to the point where your cleavage is visible. And opt for crew/boat necks instead of v/scoop necks. Prints also make you seem fuller so maybe you want to go with solid and darker colors.

Looks like she isn't too pleased with your fashion choice.

Just get something that covers your bust properly. And make sure it looks good on you.(Never say that the clothes ITSELF looks good...ugh...from someone I know...)

Minimizer bras and keep your tops uninteresting (no frills, solid colors, nothing that outlines your breasts, etc ) and your skirs, trousers more interesting.
