Any sun exposure at any time of your life is going to age your skin. That's why the younger you are when you start tanning, the earlier you'll be able to notice aging and discoloration- dark spots. My advice is to tan for only like 10 minutes a day and make sure you never burn. Building a very gradual tan is better for your skin, but still any sun exposure isn't good for it. I just hate spray on tans and gradual color building lotions. They look fake and orange...

There are UV Free Tanning Beds or you can try spray on tan. Also there are tan enhancing lotions. I have never tried them but I think the only downfall is that they work a little slower than a tanning bed. There are a lot of good ones though by Neutrogena and Dove. There are many different options. I would suggest just going to a local tanning salon and asking them what alternatives they offer to UV Tanning Beds.

Sunless "bronzers" are the way to go!
How Bronzing Formulas Work:
Bronzing formulas produce a tanned appearance by developing a brown color on the surface of the skin without the exposure to UV light The effects of bronzers provide a more immediate natural looking bronze result.
Used by all levels of tanners, bronzing ingredients can be added to tingle or non-tingle formulas to supplement and enhance the tan achieved from ultraviolet exposure.
Below is a list of articles and reviews of bronzers:

the quick answer is not any. Tanning beds use the same UV rays because the solar. you should use the tanning beds responsibly (eg initiating with short classes and transferring up gradually), yet those UV rays are nonetheless going to reason damage on your epidermis. Getting epidermis maximum cancers also relies upon on what type of epidermis you've. if you're obviously darkish toned, you do not have as a lot to be bothered about. if you're really person-friendly, do not chance it. You look warm dwindled, too. :)

By tanning under the sun, you are damaging your skin and the damage will become more apparent as you age.
Use any of the gradual self tanners (ex. Jergen's, Olay, Neutrogena) or self-tanning sprays/lotions.
Neutrogena makes a sunscreen w/ self-tanning ingredients.

Use liquid sun-tanning products. Melaleuca has a great product. Sun will always damage the skin.
