Your computer would run windows vista just fine, My computer so far hasn't used 1 gig of ram while on vista, however to speed things up for any intense applications you may want to upgrade ram, but basic applications and surfing would be just fine and run at decent speeds.

FYI: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/upgradeadvisor.mspx?wt_svl=20029a&mg_id=20029b This is the upgrade advisor that microsoft came out with, this can test your PC and display information on how compatible your computer is based on specs and testing.

Again, your computer will run fine, but if you want further testing use the website above!

It's up to you.

If you do, make sure you buy Vista from Acer for your particular Model to ensure you get all the necessary Acer drivers.

I wouldn't install it. I wouldn't even buy it at this time. Your computer meets the minimum requirements. It will run too slow. I rather have XP and performance than Vista and a slow computer.
