Unfortunately, our brains are not always easy to deal with, they often seem to have a mind of their own (okay, bad pun, but still true).
I believe you can love many people, but most are unwilling to accept this, as society really frowns upon admitting this. Just because you aren't with someone anymore, doesn't mean that you flip a switch and stop loving them. It may fade in time, but the feeling can still exist. There are also many people who have chosen a "polyamory" lifestyle, though, again, society as a whole is very negative on this point.
Just remember, you're constantly fighting a battle - what do you want, and what does your brain chemistry tell you?

I agree. I have had deep and loving feelings for two women at the same time. One became my wife and the other is and has been a dear friend since we met in high school. many years ago. I still feel a "love " for her and hold her dear. I think it's natural to care and love others. They are people out there that have all the unique qualities and traits that are compatible with yours and you will be attracted to them even drawn to them. Now it isnt to say I would cheat on my wife with this woman, I wouldnt. I love my wife and that wouldnt prove my love for either one of them. I think we as people want to be surrounded by those who care and nurture those who will let us. So it is easy to see how we may fall in love with more than 1 person, however eventualy you make a decision to put 1 of them over the other and say marry. While you can still genuinely love the other.

When you fail to understand the definition of love, then it is VERY possible to be in love with 2 people at the same time.

Love is defined as unwavering commitment and faithfulness. It is much more than a "feeling".

That pretty much deletes the possibility of loving 2 people simultaneously.

Can you love three children if you have them? Because we were born with a priority of sharing and receiving love, and it never runs out.

I will say, however, that if you're speaking in terms of relationships, it is possible, but there also comes a time to draw the line, and say, Okay, I love both of these people, but which one do I love enough to spend my LIFE with? I believe you'll find, that one stands out just a bit more than the other.

I don't believe that's possible. You may be in love with one of them and love the other, but you can not be IN LOVE with two people at the same time.

It is not impossible to love more them 2 people however, it is impossible to be in love with more then 1 person. Either you love 1 or infatuated with the other one. Weigh the options.

Hmmm, good question. I bet no one really has the answer, but I'm guessing it's because you open yourself up to it. I mean, if you are dedicated to one person, you shouldn't be ABLE to love more than one person. However, many people HAVE been in love with more than two people and I always wonder how it happens, and how they work it out.

Because it is. Every person is unique & may have things about them that you love.

Parents can love all of their children differently, but with as much fervor for each. You can love both your mom -and- your dad (and your sister and your brother and your spouse). Why wouldn't you be able to love two non-related people, too?

Love is blind, and usually stupid. It is something inside of you so you can be in love with several people. It doesn't mean you can do anyting about it, but you can be in love.
